“Real Housewives of Potomac” stars Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie Osefo, were arrested on Thursday, October 9, and are facing fraud charges.
A representative for the couple said that they are back home with their family and doing well. They also expressed gratitude for the support they have received.
The representative added that the couple is looking forward to their day in court and asks for privacy as they deal with the legal process.
Police records show that the couple have been released after posting bond.
Wendy and Eddie are facing 16 charges, including felonies related to “false/misleading info fraud” involving over $300.
The police began investigating after the couple reported a burglary at their home in April 2024, claiming that jewelry, luxury items, and clothes worth over $200,000 were stolen.
However, detectives discovered that some of the supposedly stolen items had been returned to stores, and Wendy was seen wearing jewelry reported stolen after the burglary.
Prosecutors say the couple claimed a $450,000 loss to their insurance company.
Wendy and Eddie joined “The Real Housewives of Potomac” in season 5. They were also scheduled to appear in a new show, “Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition,” but the premiere has been pushed back to October 21 and will not start with Wendy’s episode.
The couple has been married for 14 years and have three children. Wendy is a former professor and Eddie is an attorney and business owner.
