Vehicle Crashes into Crowd Outside Los Angeles Nightclub
In a disturbing incident early Saturday morning in Los Angeles, a vehicle drove into a crowd of people waiting to enter a nightclub, injuring about 30 individuals. The accident occurred along a busy boulevard, prompting bystanders to react against the driver.
Authorities have reported that the driver sustained a gunshot wound, though they are still investigating whether this injury occurred before or after the crash. The driver was taken to the hospital; however, their identity and condition have not been revealed.
According to Los Angeles police, 23 victims were transported to local hospitals, with at least three reported to be in critical condition. Fire Captain Adam VanGerpen described the scene, noting that many of those injured were women waiting to enter the Vermont Hollywood nightclub. The vehicle, identified as a Nissan Versa, also collided with a taco truck and a valet stand.
Witnesses recounted the chaos, with people inside the club stepping outside to assist the injured before emergency responders arrived. Medrano, a vendor working nearby, shared her close call, stating that her hot dog stand was struck by the vehicle. She reported hearing gunshots shortly after the crash, which caused panic as people began to run.
The shooter, identified only as a man wearing a blue jersey and carrying a silver revolver, fled the scene. The Los Angeles Police Department has launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this alarming episode.
