Candace Cameron Bure, known for her role in “Full House” and her more recent work with Great American Media, has opened up about choices she made early in her career. She explained that she turned down many scripts in her teens and twenties because they didn’t line up with her personal values.
Bure emphasized that she never wanted to use her body or sexuality to get ahead in Hollywood. She stated that her morality and character were always more important to her than achieving fame or success. It was an easy decision for her to reject roles that went against her beliefs.
She acknowledged that it wasn’t always easy, especially seeing other young stars taking a different path. Some of her peers were posing in magazines in ways that she felt were too revealing. This made her question whether she should follow suit to grow up in the public eye.
Despite these pressures, Bure chose to stay true to herself. She believes many young stars feel the need to prove they are older and more mature once they reach 18 or 21, leading them to make questionable decisions.
Bure, who is now a chief content officer, shared that she remains confident by knowing who she is through her faith and the support of her family. She believes that critics will always exist, and you can’t please everyone, so it’s important to let the negativity roll off your shoulder.
Candace Cameron Bure has been married to Valeri Bure, a former hockey player, since 1996, and they have three children together.
