Tampa Bay Buccaneers Add Defensive Tackle to Practice Squad
TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have added defensive tackle Desmond Watson to their practice squad. Watson, who previously played college football for the Florida Gators, joins the team after initially being signed as an undrafted free agent earlier this year.
Watson is a physically imposing player. After college, the Buccaneers acknowledged Watson needed to prioritize his health and conditioning. He has been working with team staff to reach a weight that allows him to perform at his best.
Coach Todd Bowles indicated that while Watson’s size could be an asset, the team is focused on his overall development and contribution to the team, not just on specific plays. He emphasized the importance of ensuring Watson is ready to contribute in the long term.
The Buccaneers, currently undefeated, are preparing to face the also undefeated Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday.
