Tragic Shooting at Wedding in France
A tragic incident occurred in Goult, France, on June 22, where a bride was killed as masked gunmen opened fire at her wedding reception. The celebration took a dark turn in the early morning hours when the attackers began shooting as the couple and their guests were leaving.
The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m., leading to the bride’s death and injuries to three others, including the groom and a 13-year-old child who were in the vehicle with the couple as they attempted to escape. One of the shooters was also killed during the chaos after being struck by the couple’s car.
While the identities of the bride and groom have not been disclosed, it has been reported that the bride was 27 years old and had no prior run-ins with the law. However, the groom had a history of criminal activity, as did his sister, who was also injured in the shooting.
Local authorities are treating this incident seriously, launching an investigation to find those responsible. They believe the attack may have been planned and possibly linked to gang activity. Goult’s Mayor, Didier Perello, stated that he feels the shooting was targeted.
The prosecutor’s office in Avignon has opened a case for "murder and attempted murder by an organized gang" as the investigation continues.
