A young boy is wanted by police after a disturbing video surfaced showing him killing a duck. The incident happened on January 18th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, near the 300 block of Southwest 8th Avenue.
In the video, the boy is seen chasing a duck with another child. He catches the duck and then stomps on it repeatedly, killing it.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is investigating this as a case of aggravated animal cruelty. They are asking for the public’s help in identifying the boy and are offering a reward of $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
Neighbors say they have noticed fewer ducks in the area since the incident, and it’s become much quieter. One neighbor described the act as “brutal” and expressed sadness at seeing something like that happen. Another person who saw the video called it “an incredibly disturbing sight.”
If you know who the boy is or have any information about this case, please contact the Fort Lauderdale Police Department’s Animal Cruelty Unit or Broward Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous when providing information.
