Jon Bon Jovi has given his blessing to his son, Jake Bongiovi, and Millie Bobby Brown’s marriage. The young couple, both in their early twenties, recently adopted a baby girl.
Bon Jovi shared his support on the “Dumb Blonde” podcast, explaining that he understands their decision because he also found love and married young. He noted that Brown’s parents, who also married at a young age and are still together, provide a positive example for the couple.
Brown and Bongiovi got married in May 2024, after announcing their engagement in April 2023. The marriage sparked some debate online due to their young ages, with Brown being 20 and Bongiovi being 22 at the time.
Bon Jovi married his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley, in 1989, when he was 27. Brown has said that her parents also marrying young normalized the idea for her.
Brown has expressed her desire to be a young mother, stating that she wants to emulate her own mother’s parenting style. She emphasized the importance of establishing herself as an actress and producer but also highlighted her personal desire to start a family.
This past summer, Brown and Bongiovi welcomed their first child through adoption. They shared their joy on Instagram, expressing excitement about entering this new phase of parenthood.
Bon Jovi is happy to be a grandfather. He mentioned that he immediately considered the adopted baby girl his grandchild. He admitted to constantly asking Brown and his son for photos and updates on the baby.
