Billy Bob Thornton Puts End to “Landman” Exit Rumors
Billy Bob Thornton, the well-known actor, is making it clear that he’s not leaving the popular TV show “Landman.”
The 70-year-old, who stars in the Taylor Sheridan series, is denying reports that he’s leaving the Paramount+ drama.
Rumors started after the Season 2 finale showed Thornton’s character, Tommy Norris, being fired from his job. This led some to believe that Thornton would be leaving the show.
But Thornton says these rumors are simply not true. He even called them “AI-generated crap,” suggesting they’re completely made up.
He told USA Today that, along with rumors about him leaving, there were also false stories about him and Demi Moore being in a relationship. He stressed that these stories have “nothing to do with reality.”
“Landman,” which premiered in November 2024, has been renewed for a third season, and Thornton has confirmed he will be a part of it.
He enjoys working with his fellow actors, including Sam Elliott, and plans to stay with the show for as long as it continues. “I’ll be here as long as it plays out. If it’s five years, great. If it’s six, I’m there,” he said.
The show is set in West Texas and explores the oil boom of the early 2010s. Thornton plays Tommy Norris, a tough crisis manager in the oil business. The series also features Demi Moore, Jon Hamm, Jacob Lofland, and Michelle Randolph.
Ali Larter, who plays Thornton’s ex-wife on the show, also shared her excitement about the show’s return for a third season.
