Four former aides to President Biden are set to testify voluntarily in a House Oversight investigation. This probe is focused on alleged efforts to cover up concerns about Biden’s mental health and the issuing of sweeping pardons and executive actions.
The aides include Neera Tanden, former director of Biden’s Domestic Policy Council; Anthony Bernal, Biden’s assistant and senior advisor to the First Lady; Ashley Williams, a former special assistant; and Annie Tomasini, Biden’s Deputy Chief of Staff. Testimonies from these individuals are scheduled over the next few weeks: Tanden will testify on June 24, Bernal on June 26, Williams on July 11, and Tomasini on July 18.
This news follows the recent decision by Biden’s former doctor, Kevin O’Connor, who chose not to participate in a scheduled transcribed interview on June 27, leading to more scrutiny from the Oversight Committee.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has emphasized the importance of this investigation, pointing out that understanding Biden’s mental state is crucial for transparency in leadership. The Committee aims to gather insights from all involved parties as they seek clarity on these serious allegations.
