Halle Berry Speaks Out on Women’s Issues, Criticizes Newsom
Actress Halle Berry recently voiced concerns about how women are viewed, particularly in Hollywood and across America. During a speech at the Dealbook Summit, Berry openly questioned California Governor Gavin Newsom’s actions regarding women’s health issues.
Berry specifically mentioned Newsom’s veto of a bill aimed at improving menopause care in California. She suggested that his decisions might reflect a broader pattern of overlooking the needs and concerns of women.
The bill in question, AB 432, sought to expand healthcare services related to menopause and require healthcare providers to receive training in this area. While supporters argued it would improve women’s health, Newsom vetoed it for the second time in October.
Berry, who is nearing 60, also shared her thoughts on the pressures women face to maintain a youthful appearance. She expressed concern that society often devalues women as they age, pushing them towards plastic surgery and other extreme measures.
She also recounted an experience from her youth where she was bullied, stating she learned to always stand up for herself and never allow mistreatment.
