Oklahoma Sooners Women’s Basketball: Raegan Beers Garners Preseason Recognition
The University of Oklahoma Sooners women’s basketball team is generating considerable excitement as they head into the 2025-2026 season. A key player, Raegan Beers, is already receiving accolades. Beers was selected for the Preseason All-SEC first team.
Beers transferred to Oklahoma from Oregon State before the 2024-2025 season. She quickly became a vital part of the team, leading the Sooners in both scoring and rebounding. Her performance was instrumental in the team’s success, helping them achieve a fourth-place finish in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) regular season. Furthermore, Beers played a crucial role in the Sooners reaching the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA Tournament, a first for the team under Coach Jennie Baranczyk.
Last season, Beers showcased her skills by averaging 17.3 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game. Her outstanding performance earned her an honorable mention as an All-American.
Looking ahead to the upcoming season, Beers will be supported by returning players such as Peyton Verhulst, Zya Vann, and Sahara Williams. The team will also welcome Aliyah Chavez, who is considered the top player in the 2025 recruiting class.
The Sooners are scheduled to commence their regular season on Monday, November 3, with a game against Belmont.
