Another New England Patriots player, Christian Barmore, is facing legal issues. He has been charged with assault stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred in August in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
According to court documents, the incident involves a person with whom Barmore was in a relationship. The person claims that an argument started over the temperature in a room and about food.
The situation reportedly escalated when the person tried to leave. They allege that Barmore grabbed their phone and when they tried to open the door to call for help, Barmore stopped them. The report says Barmore allegedly threw the person to the floor and grabbed them by the shirt near the neck. The person also claims Barmore threatened to have his cousin harm them.
The police report includes a statement from the person stating they are worried that Barmore might hire someone to cause them harm. They mentioned having heard Barmore make similar threats in the past, suggesting that his financial resources would allow him to do so. The person also shared older text messages, claiming they showed what Barmore is capable of doing.
Barmore is facing one count of assault and battery on a family or household member. The person involved has stated they no longer wish to have any connection with Barmore.
Barmore is scheduled to appear in court on February 3.
The New England Patriots have released a statement acknowledging the reports and confirming they were aware of the incident when it occurred in August. The team says they promptly informed the NFL and will cooperate fully with the league and respect the ongoing legal process. They will continue to monitor the situation closely and will not provide any further comments at this time.
This news comes shortly after reports involving another Patriots player, who is facing multiple criminal charges.
Both situations are ongoing and are subject to further investigation and legal proceedings.
