Aubrey Plaza made a striking appearance at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, stepping onto the red carpet for the premiere of her new film, Honey Don’t!, on May 23. She was joined by her co-stars Margaret Qualley and Charlie Day, as well as filmmakers Ethan Coen and Tricia Cooke.
For the glamorous event, Plaza wore a stunning, full-length nude dress adorned with gems, which featured a sheer design that showed off a matching corset underneath. Her makeup was kept natural, and she accessorized with elegant diamond earrings.
This marks Plaza’s first public appearance since the passing of her husband, filmmaker Jeff Baena, who tragically died earlier in January. His death was ruled a suicide, leaving many in shock and calling for compassion in such painful times.
In her heartfelt statement following his death, Plaza expressed profound sorrow: “This is an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time."
Plaza’s first outing after her loss was at the 50th anniversary celebration of Saturday Night Live on February 16, where she honored Baena by wearing a tie-dye T-shirt, a design that held special meaning for them both.
The couple kept their relationship private, starting to date in 2011, and they tied the knot in May 2021. Plaza referred to Baena as her "darling husband" in a touching Instagram post, confirming their marriage to fans.
Honey Don’t! is set to hit theaters on August 22 and tells a gripping story about a small-town investigator unraveling mysterious deaths linked to a church.
