Aubrey O’Day Opens Up About Diddy’s Trial
Aubrey O’Day recently shared her feelings about the ongoing federal trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs. The former Danity Kane singer expressed her thoughts in a statement, noting that she hasn’t been called to testify or asked to participate in the trial. She remarked, "This trial is bittersweet for me, as I’ve been speaking the truth about Diddy for 20 years now."
O’Day, who is 41, is launching a podcast titled Aubrey O’Day, Covering the Diddy Trial to discuss the events surrounding Diddy, who removed her from the band back in 2008 during MTV’s Making the Band. She sees the podcast as a way to regain her voice and address her past experiences after being let go from the group.
"My heart goes out to all the victims, especially those who could have been spared, had anyone taken these claims seriously before," she added. O’Day hopes this situation will bring about justice and prompt change in the music industry to protect against abuse by those in power.
During the first episode of her podcast, O’Day confirmed she would not be testifying against Diddy and explained she had met with Homeland Security regarding the case. She clarified on social media that she was in New York for personal reasons, not to testify.
Diddy was arrested in September 2024 and has denied all allegations against him. He is facing several criminal charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering, and his trial is expected to last several weeks. Currently held without bail, he could face a lengthy prison sentence if convicted.
In light of the trial, former girlfriend Cassie Ventura has also made headlines, sharing her own experiences of alleged abuse. Though she settled a lawsuit against Diddy, her statements have added to the serious allegations surrounding him.
O’Day has previously discussed her feelings on the matter, emphasizing that being a victim is not something that brings vindication, and that healing takes time. Her podcast aims to explore these themes, making it available for listeners who want to understand more about the ongoing situation.
