Authorities in Arizona are investigating the death of a man believed to have been lured from his home by a stranger seeking assistance with a vehicle issue.
Paul Clifford, 53, was discovered deceased near a vehicle that was found burning in Redington Pass, located in Pima County, close to Tucson. According to the local sheriff’s department, Clifford was approached at his home by someone claiming to need help with their car troubles. His daughter, Sabrina Vining, shared on a GoFundMe page that her father had taken her truck late on December 23 to help someone jump-start their vehicle.
Concern grew among family members when Clifford did not return home, prompting them to contact law enforcement. Authorities are looking into whether this incident is connected to a stolen vehicle that was later discovered at an apartment complex near Prince Road and Roger Road in Tucson.
Details about the distance between where Clifford’s body was found, the stolen vehicle, and his home remain unclear as police have not disclosed specific locations at this time.
In her heartfelt GoFundMe post, Vining described her father as “a gentle giant” with a “huge, caring heart.” She expressed her sorrow over the loss and the challenges her family is facing, acknowledging that they will need support during this difficult time.
The police investigation is still ongoing, with no updates regarding potential suspects or whether anyone acted alone or in a group.
