Columbia, SC — On Friday night, a solemn ceremony took place to honor law enforcement officers who have served and lost their lives in the line of duty. The 19th Annual Law Enforcement Memorial was held at the Law Enforcement Monument located on the grounds of the Statehouse.
During this year’s event, three new officers who died in 2023 were added to the memorial. With this addition, the total number of South Carolina officers commemorated on the monument has now reached 505. The event serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by those who protect and serve the community.
