Three brothers from Florida have been charged with sex trafficking in connection with alleged incidents that date back over ten years, according to court documents.
Alon Alexander and Oren Alexander, 37-year-old twins, along with their older brother Tal Alexander, 38, face serious charges in a federal indictment acquired by authorities. The brothers, who mostly reside in New York and Florida, were taken into custody in Miami on December 11, as announced by the Southern District of New York.
Alon and Tal are known for their luxury real estate businesses in Florida and New York, while Oren works as an executive at the family’s private security company.
The indictment claims the brothers operated a large sex trafficking scheme that crossed state and international borders, starting in 2010. Prosecutors allege that they utilized their wealth and social status in real estate to create situations where women could be assaulted.
According to the charges, the brothers would meet women through dating or other social connections before raping them. On several occasions, they allegedly assaulted victims together.
The indictment also suggests that the women were enticed into these situations with promises of gifts and lavish experiences. In some cases, these incentives were offered even after the attacks, prosecutors claim.
The attacks are said to have been premeditated and included drugging the victims. It is alleged that the brothers would research potential victims to determine if they found them “sufficiently attractive” to invite to their events and trips, where the assaults would occur.
The Alexander brothers now face federal charges for conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and sex trafficking itself. They came under investigation earlier this year following civil lawsuits that accused them of sexual assault, although they have consistently denied any wrongdoing.
At this time, attempts to reach their attorneys for comment have not been successful.
