Addison Rae Takes a Step Back from Social Media
Addison Rae has decided to reduce her presence on social media. In a recent interview on Therapuss with Jake Shane, the popular singer and TikTok star discussed her journey and the importance of privacy after achieving fame.
The 24-year-old, who rose to prominence as a dancer on TikTok, expressed her feelings of being misunderstood during her time online. She noted, “I felt so misunderstood, but I was sharing so much." This experience has led her to realize that not everything in her life needs to be public.
Rae shared, “I think privacy becomes really important over time. I now ask myself, ‘What can I allow people access to that isn’t going to hurt me?’” She believes that understanding this boundary is crucial for her peace of mind.
During the conversation, she reflected on her past, mentioning how moving from a small town to Los Angeles broadened her experiences. “I was from a small town, of course, I didn’t experience a lot of things," she said, implying that her transition to city life has been eye-opening.
Addison also mentioned that many artists feel the need to step back at times. "They get scared of being too exposed or too much in front of everyone," she explained. For her, taking breaks allows her to maintain a healthy balance between her career and personal life.
In her recent projects, Addison has learned to embrace the idea of patience. She feels that delays in releasing music can sometimes be beneficial, giving her the freedom to create without the pressure to rush.
Her self-titled debut album, released on June 6, covers a wide range of topics, prompting her to use her name for the album. “It just sounds like music you would make,” is how she described the feedback she received, showcasing her authenticity as an artist.
By focusing on her well-being and privacy, Addison Rae is navigating her career while remaining true to herself.
