A TikTok prankster named Charles Smith is facing serious charges after he was caught spraying pesticide on fresh food items at a Walmart in Arizona. Smith, who is 27 and goes by the name Wolfie Kahletti on TikTok, was arrested on December 21.
According to officials from the Mesa Police Department, Smith entered the Walmart on South Stapley Drive around 8:30 p.m. on December 19. He allegedly picked up a can of pesticide, which he didn’t pay for, and began spraying it over various food items, including fruits, vegetables, and even rotisserie chickens.
A TikTok video, which has since been removed, showed Smith doing this and later posting the footage online. After facing backlash for his actions, Smith reportedly returned to the store to collect the items he had damaged.
Police were able to identify Smith as the suspect through their investigation, and he later turned himself in. During questioning, he confessed to stealing the pesticide and using it on the food products. He now faces multiple charges, including introducing poison, which is categorized as a felony in Arizona, along with misdemeanors for theft and criminal damage.
In court records, Smith referred to himself as a “troll” and is known for making controversial prank videos online that often attract a lot of attention. His TikTok content usually earns between 1 million and 12 million views.
In recent posts, he has displayed other questionable pranks, like using a bike lock to lock customers inside stores and placing raw bacon in laundry machines. Despite his online fame, authorities warn that such reckless behavior can have serious consequences.
Walmart confirmed that all affected products were removed from the store and that they have thoroughly cleaned the area. The company expressed their commitment to customer safety and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
The Mesa Police Department underscored the dangers that can arise from irresponsible actions disguised as pranks, urging people to think carefully about the consequences of their behavior online.
