Erin and Ben Napier, the beloved stars of HGTV’s “Home Town,” are keeping their holiday plans close to home this season. They recently shared insights on their family traditions and holiday celebrations, which showcase their genuine down-to-earth nature.
Ben, 41, expressed their commitment to family traditions, including a candlelight service at their church on Christmas Eve and enjoying a special Christmas meal featuring fettuccine alfredo. He stated, “That’s become maybe my favorite tradition.”
The Napiers also plan to hit the road in their camper to visit Ben’s family, bringing along their daughters, Helen, 6, and Mae, 3. “We have gotten really into taking our camper to my parents’ house and setting up outside,” Ben shared, highlighting the importance of family time even in unconventional settings. “When everybody’s there, it’s just so crowded,” Erin added, elaborating on their unique holiday arrangements.
Unlike many of their celebrity counterparts who opt for lavish tropical vacations, the couple prefers simpler pleasures. “We’ve done some pretty amazing trips in the past,” Ben said, referring to their recent works in Florida for an upcoming season of their spin-off show, “Home Town Takeover.” However, he emphasized that nothing beats the joy of a simple drive in their camper.
Erin humorously noted, “We can’t outmaneuver our raising. Our parents instilled values of honesty and simplicity in us, and they’d be disappointed if we went to Cabo for Christmas.” This sentiment reflects their commitment to staying grounded despite their fame.
Based in Laurel, Mississippi, where they continue their home renovation work, the Napiers are eager for the new season of “Home Town,” airing on December 29. Erin teased that this season will feature many firsts, including revisiting a renovated home to accommodate a growing family.
She also mentioned that viewers who appreciate gardening and community stories will especially enjoy the premiere episode, which involves transforming a historic landmark in Laurel into a school for underserved children. Erin playfully warned viewers to have tissues ready, describing it as a “great big, tearjerker.”
Mark your calendars for the eighth season of “Home Town,” debuting December 29 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on HGTV.
