A convicted murderer is currently evading authorities in California after making a daring escape from a prison van bound for a court hearing. This incident has initiated a thorough search operation to locate him.
Cesar Hernandez, aged 34, escaped from custody shortly after the van arrived at the Kern County Superior Courthouse in Delano at around 11 a.m. on Monday. Authorities have described him as a “dangerous” fugitive, and as of late Tuesday, he has still not been apprehended.
Hernandez stands 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs about 161 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair. Officials advise the public not to approach him as he poses a potential threat. At the time of his escape, he was last seen wearing orange prison clothing.
He has been incarcerated since 2019 after receiving a sentence of 25 years to life for first-degree murder. Law enforcement agencies, including the California Highway Patrol and local police departments from Delano and McFarland, are actively involved in the manhunt to ensure public safety and recapture the escapee.
