A 22-year-old mother from Florida, Marlena Velez, has found herself in trouble with the law again after allegedly shoplifting from a local Target store for the second time. This incident follows a previous arrest linked to a TikTok video in which she showcased items she claimed to have stolen.
On November 30, the Cape Coral Police responded to a call at the same Target where Velez was said to have stolen merchandise on November 21. Surveillance footage captured her using the self-checkout to scan fake barcodes while shopping for holiday items such as a rattan Christmas tree, festive ribbons, and children’s clothing.
The police estimated the value of the stolen goods at around $225. Officers recognized Velez from her earlier arrest and confirmed her identity through distinctive tattoos on the man accompanying her and the wallpaper image on her phone.
Following the identification, authorities went to her home and arrested her for Petit Theft. Records from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office indicate Velez was released on a $500 bond the day after her arrest, with a court date set for December 10.
Velez is known as a mom vlogger with a significant following on TikTok, where she shares content about home decor and fashion. In a previous post, she discussed her earning potential from TikTok, suggesting that one video can bring in as much money as her boyfriend’s monthly income.
While in custody after her first arrest, Velez was seen on security footage remarking, “Lesson learned.”
