A mother in Florida was arrested last week after being accused of drowning her 14-year-old daughter, Giselle Glover.
On November 20, police went to a home in Kissimmee, Florida, responding to reports of a disturbance. There, they found Giselle unresponsive and she was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Emergency calls indicated that Kelsey Michelle Glover, the girl’s mother, drowned Giselle and allegedly attacked the caller with knives and a hammer.
A medical examiner ruled Giselle’s death a homicide due to drowning. Reports suggest that she had diabetes, and the situation escalated after Kelsey decided to stop giving her daughter insulin, leading to a heated argument with her roommate. It was indicated that without her medication, Giselle began to feel very ill. The roommate also told police that Kelsey played loud music to cover up Giselle’s cries for help.
According to court documents, Kelsey reportedly held Giselle’s head underwater in a bathtub while the roommate tried to intervene. During this, Kelsey allegedly attacked her roommate with a hammer.
Giselle’s father, DJ, set up a GoFundMe account to bring her body back to Virginia. In a heartfelt message, he remembered his daughter as intelligent and inspiring, despite her struggles with diabetes. He expressed sorrow for the moments they would never share, such as buying her first car and attending her prom.
Kelsey Glover is facing charges of first-degree murder. It is not clear if she has entered a plea or found legal representation.
The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities are seeking anyone with information to reach out to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
