A man from Florida is facing serious charges after allegedly killing another man with golf clubs at a golf course in Palm Beach County.
According to a report from the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, Junior Boucher, 36, was seen by a witness chasing 65-year-old Brian Hiltebeitel with a golf club on the first hole of Sandhill Crane Golf Club.
Witnesses say that Hiltebeitel shouted, “He’s trying to kill me,” during the incident. At one point, both men fell to the ground, and Boucher is said to have struck Hiltebeitel several times with the club.
Afterward, Boucher allegedly got another golf club and continued to hit Hiltebeitel until they both fell into a pond nearby. Once in the water, it is claimed that Boucher got on top of Hiltebeitel and appeared to choke him. The victim eventually stopped moving, and Boucher is accused of hitting him several more times in the head.
After the altercation, Boucher reportedly removed his clothes and walked away from the scene. Police later used a taser to subdue him.
Hiltebeitel was pronounced dead at the scene with serious head injuries, according to investigators. Boucher has been charged with first-degree murder, and he has not yet entered a plea.
Dina Lauro, the girlfriend of the victim, shared her sadness, remembering Hiltebeitel as a joyful person who was always in good spirits.
