GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville Police Department has announced that a second suspect has been charged with murder in a shooting incident that occurred in August.
Eighteen-year-old Jedo Zakaria is accused of being involved in an armed robbery at the Mulberry Court Apartments on August 31. Along with Zakaria, two other teenagers—Corey Russ, also 18, and 17-year-old Andre Nicholson—were allegedly planning to rob a 16-year-old victim who was armed with a rifle, according to police.
During the attempted robbery, Nicholson was shot and killed, while the 16-year-old victim sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
Corey Russ was arrested in September and faced charges including murder, conspiracy, armed robbery, possession of marijuana, and driving with a suspended license.
Investigators later identified Zakaria as a co-defendant through cell phone records, leading to his arrest on November 19. He now faces charges of murder, conspiracy, armed robbery, and obstruction of justice.
