ATLANTA, G.A. — Jamir Dismukes, the quarterback for Allen University, has been honored as the SIAC Newcomer of the Year, as announced by the league on Friday morning.
In his very first season with both Allen and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), Dismukes played in nine games for the Yellow Jackets. He achieved an impressive 113 completions out of 192 passes, totalling 1,832 passing yards and 19 touchdowns. Showing his ability as a dual-threat player, he also rushed for 284 yards on 106 carries, scoring six rushing touchdowns, which was the highest on his team.
Thanks to his outstanding performance, Allen ranked in the top five in the SIAC, averaging 26.4 points and 206.6 passing yards per game. Dismukes was one of only five quarterbacks in the SIAC to exceed an average of 200 passing yards per game, recording an impressive 204.6 yards per game.
Dismukes made an immediate impact in his first game at Allen, setting a new NCAA-era record for the Yellow Jackets by completing 75% of his passes against Clark Atlanta on September 7.
Allen’s head football coach, Cedric Pearl, expressed pride in Dismukes, stating, “We are very proud of Jamir for his hard work and dedication this season. He is certainly deserving of this award, and we are excited to see him build off of this past season as we look ahead to our 2025 campaign.”
Dismukes is the first player from Allen football to receive this award since the Yellow Jackets returned to the SIAC in 2021.
