Jamie Foxx, the talented entertainer known for his impressive career, has shared his personal journey of recovery after facing a serious health crisis. This spring, Foxx experienced a brain bleed that led to a stroke, putting him in a coma for weeks. Thankfully, he has made significant strides in his recovery.
During a recent appearance at the Golden Globes, Foxx opened up about the vital role his faith played in navigating his challenging experience. At 57, he acknowledged that amidst the hustle of Hollywood, it can be easy to lose touch with God. However, he felt a renewed connection during his recovery, stating, “When I spoke to him, he says, ‘Listen, I need you to sit over here for a second, but when you get back out there, I ain’t telling you to be an angel, but just – you know – you have a different thing.’”
Reflecting on his health scare, Foxx emphasized the importance of family and friends, particularly his daughters. He credited them for providing unwavering support when he needed it the most. He shared, “When tragedy happens in a real way, you need solid family and friends. The two ladies with me tonight, Corinne and Anelise, held me down in a way that is hard to explain.”
Foxx also expressed gratitude for the prayers he received during his illness. He stated on Instagram, “I want to start by saying thank you to everyone that prayed for me when I was in a bad way… you lifted me through.” His faith and the power of prayer have been central to his journey back to health.
Now, nearly two years later, Foxx has embraced a new outlook on life. He remarked, “You take a picture on your cell phone and you hit that first filter, and it brightens up, that’s the way my life looks now.” His experience has taught him to appreciate each day, reinforcing his belief that there are “no bad days.”
As he continues to recover and move forward with his career, Foxx serves as a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the strength that comes from faith and family.
