LOS ANGELES — Wildfires in the Pacific Palisades region of Los Angeles have forced several high-profile residents to evacuate their homes. Among those affected are well-known figures such as Mark Hamill, Mandy Moore, and James Woods.
Firefighters in California are working hard to contain these fierce fires, which are being fueled by strong winds. As the flames spread, thousands of residents have been urged to leave their homes, leading to significant traffic congestion as people attempted to escape the danger. Unfortunately, many had to abandon their vehicles and flee on foot, carrying essential belongings with them.
Hamill shared his experience on social media, noting the last-minute evacuation from Malibu, mentioning smaller fires on either side of the road as he approached the Pacific Coast Highway.
This upscale neighborhood is home to other celebrities like Adam Sandler, Ben Affleck, Tom Hanks, and Steven Spielberg. Although officials have not provided exact figures on the damage caused, approximately 30,000 residents are facing evacuation orders, and more than 13,000 structures are currently at risk due to the fire.
The flames have reached Temescal Canyon, a well-known hiking area surrounded by expensive homes. The fire has also crossed Sunset Boulevard, affecting parts of the Palisades Charter High School—a location frequently featured in various films and shows over the years.
Woods posted a video showing the devastating flames near his property, discussing the emotional toll of potentially losing everything. Meanwhile, Mandy Moore expressed her relief at being safe with her family and pets, thanking first responders for their efforts.
Due to the wildfires and windy conditions, film studios decided to cancel two major movie premieres. Additionally, the Los Angeles Unified School District has relocated students from three schools in the affected area for safety measures.
