Deommodore Lenoir of the 49ers Arrested in Los Angeles
San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir was arrested on Thursday, June 26, in Los Angeles and charged with obstructing justice. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed his arrest.
Lenoir, 25, was taken into custody around 5:30 p.m. but was released the following morning. Reports state that police noticed a firearm inside a parked vehicle when they approached Lenoir and a group of men. In an effort to conceal their actions, the group reportedly passed the vehicle’s keys among themselves.
Alongside Lenoir, another individual named Marcus Cunningham was also arrested. Cunningham faces felony charges for having a concealed firearm in a vehicle.
Lenoir is expected to appear in court next month. The 49ers acknowledged the situation and are currently gathering more details about the incident. The team had no further comment at this time.
A homegrown talent from Los Angeles, Lenoir was drafted by the 49ers in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Over his career, he has started 47 games and registered six interceptions and 265 tackles. Recently, he signed a four-year contract extension worth $92 million for the 2024 season.
