A 12-year-old boy is facing serious charges for allegedly shooting a 14-year-old in Richland County, South Carolina. According to the sheriff’s office, officers were dispatched just before 7 p.m. on November 11 to a location on Ranch Road, where they discovered the younger boy with multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators believe that the incident began as a verbal fight involving the 12-year-old and four other youths. During the argument, the 12-year-old reportedly took out a gun and fired, hitting the 14-year-old victim. Fortunately, the 14-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition.
After the incident, the 12-year-old suspect turned himself in to law enforcement. Authorities have also linked him to an armed robbery case from March.
The young suspect is now facing several charges, including attempted murder, possession of a weapon under the age of 18, and possession of a firearm during a violent crime, as well as armed robbery related to the earlier case.
