Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has a clear goal for the upcoming Christmas Day game: he wants to catch Beyoncé’s halftime show.
On December 25, the Ravens will face off against the Houston Texans, and the talented musician will perform during the halftime break. Jackson, who is 27 years old, expressed that watching Beyoncé is a top priority for him, even while he is focused on the game.
When asked about the performance at a press conference on December 23, Jackson said, “I’m going to go out there and watch.” He described Beyoncé’s show as “dope” and mentioned that it will be his first opportunity to see her perform live, so he doesn’t want to miss it, regardless of how the game goes.
“I’m not even thinking about the lead,” Jackson joked, emphasizing his excitement about seeing Beyoncé. He continued to clarify that he meant no disrespect to his coach, John Harbaugh, or his teammates when he chose to prioritize the performance.
Jackson, who has a reputation for being a caring teammate—having gifted his entire offensive line Rolex watches in 2019—made sure the fans knew that he isn’t taking this lightly. “Not saying it like that, no disrespect,” he added, aware of how statements can be perceived.
The Ravens versus Texans game is set to kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET and will be streamed on Netflix from Houston’s NRG Stadium. Earlier in the day, the Kansas City Chiefs, led by stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, will open the Christmas Day NFL schedule with a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 p.m. ET.
