A man from California, Oshae Pollard, has been arrested in connection with a string of violent robberies, which have left some victims seriously injured. The 21-year-old, who lives in the Manchester Square neighborhood of Los Angeles, was taken into custody by authorities on December 4. He faces serious charges including robbery and using a firearm during a violent crime, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California.
The alleged crime spree took place over several weeks, from August 25 to September 22, during which Pollard targeted multiple individuals, with some incidents resulting in significant injuries.
One particularly shocking robbery occurred on August 25 at the Hustler Casino parking lot in Gardena. Reports state that Pollard confronted a woman, pushed her to the ground, and pressed a gun into her mouth, causing her to break her teeth. He then threatened her by saying if she screamed, he would kill her.
In another incident on September 22, Pollard attempted to rob a man of his watch, ring, and car. When the victim resisted, Pollard shot him in the hand and thigh, subsequently threatening him. Despite being injured, the victim fought back and managed to escape in his vehicle.
Pollard’s violent behavior extended to robbing a taxi driver the day after his first incident. He attacked the driver, hitting him in the face, and stole his wallet and cellphone.
Additionally, Pollard and an accomplice targeted two individuals for luxury items at the Fashion Island shopping center on the same day. Armed with a pistol, Pollard demanded cash and stole valuables worth approximately $44,000. When one victim tried to escape in a Ferrari, Pollard fired at the car but narrowly missed.
Authorities have expressed their concern over the violent nature of these crimes, emphasizing the importance of holding offenders accountable to keep communities safe. If convicted, Pollard could face a life sentence in federal prison.
