Clemson Dominates Saint Francis with 88-62 Win
CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson University men’s basketball team put on a strong performance against Saint Francis on Friday night, winning decisively 88-62 at Littlejohn Coliseum.
The Tigers, now 2-0 for the season, were led by Ian Schieffelin from Atlanta, who delivered an impressive double-double. He scored 16 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and also contributed four assists, two steals, and one block.
Jaeden Zackery from Salem, Wisconsin, also had an outstanding game, matching Schieffelin’s 16 points. Zackery showcased his skills with a team-high six assists and four steals, demonstrating his defensive prowess right from the start of the season.
Clemson’s defense was particularly notable, recording 12 steals. This marked their best defensive performance since they secured 10 steals in a close game against Virginia Tech last January.
The first half saw Clemson get off to a fast start, ending with a substantial 21-point lead at halftime, 41-20. They extended their lead to 29 points in the second half, but Saint Francis fought back, narrowing the gap to 14 points at one stage. However, the Tigers maintained control and closed out the game with a comfortable 26-point victory.
Additionally, the Tigers’ bench made a significant contribution, scoring a combined 24 points. Dillon Hunter and Jake Heidbreder each added eight points, while Chase Hunter and Chauncey Wiggins rounded out the scoring with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
