The St. Baldrick’s Foundation has recently granted $50,000 to Bon Secours St. Francis Cancer Center. This funding will help hire a full-time clinical research nurse coordinator for the center’s Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Care program.
Dr. Hal Crosswell, the director of the program, expressed gratitude for the support, stating, “As a community cancer center, Bon Secours St. Francis is truly thankful for St. Baldrick’s backing. It allows us to offer access to important clinical trials right here in the Upstate. By providing these care options locally, we can prevent our patients and their families from having to travel during such a challenging time.”
In total, St. Baldrick’s Foundation awarded 26 infrastructure grants in November 2024, allowing facilities like Bon Secours to open and coordinate clinical trials and provide vital survivorship care.
