Cascades Verdae, a life plan community, shared on November 18 that its parent company, Senior Living Communities, has opened the entries for the Silver Pen Writing Competition.
High school seniors in the area are invited to submit a 1,000-word essay by February 16, 2025, on the theme “How has someone in history molded your life?”
A panel will evaluate all essays, and two winners will be chosen to receive cash prizes of up to $3,750 each. The winners will be honored at an award ceremony in the spring of 2025.
Since the competition began in 2012, Senior Living Communities has provided over $554,750 in scholarships to assist students as they embark on their college and trade school journeys. For further details about the competition, interested individuals can visit the official website.
