Orangeburg County, S.C. – The search for a missing 4-year-old boy has come to a happy conclusion, according to Sheriff Leroy Ravenell. The child was reported missing on Tuesday morning, leading to a swift response from local law enforcement.
Sheriff Ravenell shared that investigators received the alert around 5:45 a.m. from a resident in Orangeburg. It was reported that a security camera captured footage of the young boy wandering alone on the street, causing concern among neighbors.
A resident on Willow Bay Drive provided crucial video evidence showing the child appearing distressed as he walked down the street without an adult nearby. Thankfully, the boy’s mother was on her regular morning walk when she heard him crying. She quickly located her son, bringing the search to an end.
Sheriff Ravenell expressed relief that the child was found safe after a short period of being alone outside. The quick actions of both the mother and the community likely played a significant role in reuniting the family.
