Despite the Cincinnati Bengals’ narrow loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Ja’Marr Chase had a standout night during the matchup on Thursday Night Football, finishing with a remarkable performance.
Chase caught 11 passes on 17 throws, racking up an impressive 264 yards and scoring three times. His electrifying presence on the field left Ravens’ coach John Harbaugh scrambling for solutions.
Harbaugh acknowledged Chase’s skill after the game, saying, “He’s a great player,” and humorously noted that he had trouble finding Chase both after the game and during it.
This game marked Chase’s third career outing with over 200 receiving yards and his third time scoring three touchdowns in a single game. Remarkably, he made history as the first player in the NFL to achieve multiple games with over 250 receiving yards and at least two touchdowns.
In his record-setting performance, Chase made a fantastic 67-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter and followed it with a 70-yard touchdown in the fourth. He also scored what looked like a game-winning touchdown with 38 seconds remaining, but the Bengals were unable to convert a crucial two-point attempt, leaving them at a 4-6 record for the season.
Quarterback Joe Burrow expressed his disappointment after the game, sharing, “If you look at how [Ja’Marr and I] are playing, it’s a tough pill to swallow.”
The Bengals will aim to bounce back in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers before taking a break in Week 12.
