BALTIMORE — The Cincinnati Bengals’ Ja’Marr Chase was at it again. Known for his explosive plays against the Baltimore Ravens, Chase made a spectacular catch on a deep crossing route, speeding through the defense for a 67-yard touchdown. This impressive score put the Bengals ahead 21-7 with just over 13 minutes left in the third quarter.
Chase has a history of big plays against the Ravens. Back in 2021, he recorded an 82-yard touchdown, with an eye-popping 76 yards gained after the catch. During that play, he reached a top speed of 20.86 mph, according to NFL Next Gen Stats.
Earlier in the game, just before halftime, the Bengals found the end zone in dramatic fashion. After a frustrating moment when it seemed a turnover was imminent, quarterback Joe Burrow connected with tight end Tanner Hudson for a 3-yard touchdown pass with only 30 seconds remaining in the half, giving the Bengals a 14-7 lead.
Before that score, it looked like the Bengals might miss out on another scoring opportunity when Ravens cornerback Brandon Stephens intercepted Burrow’s pass in the end zone. However, the play was reviewed and overturned, as Stephens was ruled to have been out of bounds when making the catch.
The scoring began for Cincinnati when running back Chase Brown plunged in for a 1-yard touchdown early in the first quarter, capping off a solid 12-play, 70-yard opening drive. A key moment in that drive was a holding penalty on Stephens, which extended the Bengals’ possession on fourth-and-goal from the 2-yard line.
With a record of 4-5, the Bengals are aiming to reach the .500 mark for the first time this season and hope to avoid being swept by the Ravens, who hold a 6-3 record.
