COLUMBIA, S.C. – On Thursday, November 7, Governor Henry McMaster announced a state of emergency in response to significant flash flooding in Orangeburg County.
Heavy rainfall caused considerable disruption in the area, with many roads either closed or completely washed away. According to the National Weather Service, the eastern midlands received between 7 to 10 inches of rain, with some localized spots experiencing up to 15 inches.
