Police in Miami have unveiled new information surrounding the heartbreaking death of a 26-year-old Polish woman, Aleksandra Leczycka, two years after she was discovered unconscious on the streets of the city.
Aleksandra had come to Florida from Siedlce, Poland, with her husband for their honeymoon in August 2022. What started as a dream holiday quickly turned into a nightmare when the couple was found unconscious, with their belongings, including jewelry and cash, missing.
While her husband, Dawid Leczycka, survived, Aleksandra tragically did not. Initially, authorities suspected that the couple had been victims of a drugging and robbery, as they were found in a vulnerable state.
However, a recent reopening of the case by a Polish court has brought to light a different narrative. It appears that the couple had taken psychoactive drugs willingly, which led to their overdose. The court also suggested that Aleksandra might have suffered an allergic reaction to the substances they consumed.
Released in October, the investigation findings did not definitively rule out the possibility that they could have been drugged after using drugs of their own, although there was no direct evidence to support this theory.
This unfortunate incident cast a shadow over what should have been a joyous honeymoon, just three weeks after the couple exchanged vows. In the days leading up to her passing, Aleksandra shared joyful moments on social media, showcasing her time spent sipping cocktails and enjoying romantic strolls along the beach with her new husband.
